NKOTB!!!

So, last week Anne-Camille came down and a group of girls went to see New Kids on the Block. I know, some of you are thinking...WHAT??? But don't hate! It was so much fun! We thought we would go for old times sake, have a few laughs, make fun...but we had a great time! It was like we were instantly transported back 20 years. Old crushes were renewed, we knew every word to every song, we screamed it was too fun!

Let the fun begin! AC, Stacey, Taylor, Loren, Me

We move to our upgraded seats:)

These guys were awesome!

Do you think Taylor was excited when they came out??

To my Mom's horror...my main man D-Dub:)

The Boys!

Jordan...we can't believe we loved these guys 20 years ago!!

Good 'ol Joey

We were watching a video on the screen and all of a sudden they popped up right beside us. I thought Taylor was going to hurt herself getting over to Jordan...and yes, she says they made eye contact...ha! ha!

Mt. Home

With everything going on I haven't had time to post these. At the end of June we went to Mountain Home to visit Shane's family and had a great time. Cohen turned one, we got to see most of the family, had pool time (girls), boys had golf time, had time at the lake with Shane's mom, and went on a canoe trip (SUPER HOT...borderline miserable).

Poppy

Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. We lost are beloved Poppy on Sunday. He was 87 years old. It has been so hard this week. He had gotten so sick and it was sad to watch, but we just weren't ready to let him go. It has been the hardest to watch my Mimi. They were married for 65 years and they had such a great love for eachother and our family. We will miss him so much!

He was born in 1922 so you can imagine how old this picture is:)

He was in the US Air Force...what a stud!

I told Shane if we have a son as cute as Daddy I would never be able to get onto them!

Happy Anniversary Shane-o-mac!

It is also our anniversary today. We have been married for six years. I can't believe it! As I look at the clock, it's 7:31 and I was probably looking out Aunt Tee's back door at my cute soon to be hubby:) I love him so much for so many reasons I couldn't begin to name them all. As Daddy said today, "Well, it's six years of Shane putting up with Laine!" Which is probably true:) and he does it all with a smile and shake of the head:) I love you Shane!

Happy Father's Day

We love our Daddy so much! We spent the day in Bonham. Went to church, ate some yummy brisket, with mashed potatoes, green beans, homemade cake from Tater Tot, and FRESH black eyed peas from the garden...nothin better!

Then we all went to go see Poppy at Cosper. It's just so sad to see someone you love so much not themselves. Then we went to go see Mimi in the hospital. After putting in her pacemaker, her heart is doing great but her kidneys have started shutting down and she will be starting dialysis this week. Please pray for her and Daddy and Aunt Gaitha.

A Real Update

I put Shane's softball blog on and now I am feeling like updating. It's been so long, I don't know if people are still checking my blog but I know a few people who would like to know what's going on:) Here is what we have been up to the last couple of months. We are in our second week of summer and it's great! It got off to a bumpy start last Monday. Mimi had a heart attack while visiting Poppy at the Cosper Center. She stayed in the hospital a few days, they put in a pace maker, and Shane I brought her home on Thursday and stayed with her that night. Gaitha came the next day to stay with her for a while. She's doing a little better but she is still very weak.
Shane has been playing a lot of golf and softball. I got him a Wii for his birthday and my arm was sore from playing tennis:) The "bonham" girls got to go to Farmersville and stay last weekend. We had so much fun being together and as always were spoiled rotten by Angie's mom. She is the BEST cook!!! Shane kept asking...this is just a girls trip? The boys will soon get to go too to fish and get home cooking!
We will celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary on Sunday, then Monday off to Mountain Home for a visit and our annual canoe trip. Speaking of Mountain Home, Darla and Tom got to come down this spring! It's the first time they had seen our new house with furniture in it. Shane was so excited that they came and we had a great time. We took them out to the Jimmy Buffet concert and saw all the crazy parrot heads...too funny!
We also went to the Kenney Chesney concert in May that got rained out...and I do mean RAINED! The pics are too funny so I will try to post them later. Of course we all thought oh, some light rain...no big deal. It poured!! We used ponchos and trash bags to keep dry...which we did not. Taylor and I shared a poncho. I had my head out one arm and she had hers out the other!

Pictures from Sam and AC's visit. We had such a great time. Can't wait to see them in a few days!

The cousins from Jedda's going away party. He will be in Leon, Mexico for 18 months doing mission work. We are so proud of him! We know God will use him for great things!!

Rough Riders Game
Kristen with Aubrey, Taylor, Stacey and Laine. Shane kept a watch for fly balls so we could do what we do best...talk!

My school at relay for life. We had a great turn out and raised a ton of money for research! We also won most spirited:)

Update??

Well, not really, but since I'm doing such a horrible job...here is Shane's softball blog. He's playing on Monday nights with our church league and they are really fun to watch. They are so funny! I really think Bryan (the writer of the blog) should be a sports writer.
Shane made an incredible leap last night. Not only was he very high in the air but completely parallel to the ground. He missed the ball:) but it was beautiful!

Pooped

These kids are wearing me out!! Due to the ICE (all schools and towns around were closed) Shane and I started out early to make the commute to school. Taylor was behind us and as it took us 10 min. to get out of our neighborhood we looked back and her eyes were big as saucers. She did fine getting out and we all made it safe, BUT the 20ish min. commute turned into and hour and a half...so we were a little late:) I have wonderful teammates so they took my class and got all of their things put away but as I was rushing in Karen says "I'm sorry but they are WILD!" This rang true the rest of the day! They would not calm down or be the least bit quite. Every once and a while one will randomly remember (as with most of their thoughts) that we are going to be out of school for a while and say "Mrs. Collins, I'm really going to miss you during the break" and I am thinking...I'm ready for some peace and quite! Don't get me wrong, I love all my kids, but gees...they're fighting and whinning and I just can't take it anymore. Anyway, only three days left...but it's hard for me to get excited about that because of the always so crazy holiday classroom party. Oh well, they'll get to have a little fun!

After that we are off on Saturday to Mountain Home to spend Christmas with Shane's family. Then back here for our family Christmas and New Years. Hope everyone is staying warm and safe!
